B Football (Billings Gazette Game of the Week)

– The obvious choice here is to pick Florence’s upset loss to Troy.

The Falcons entered the weekend unbeaten and ranked fifth in the Associated Press Polls. Florence has a couple of good wins on their resume, but they’ve been less than dominant at different times this season. Maybe they were looking ahead to this week’s showdown with Missoula Loyola?

– We mentioned Bigfork-Fairfield, Shelby-Malta, and Manhattan-Colstrip as games to watch last week, and Manhattan definitely “caught my eye.” Colstrip is one of the top teams in the 3B (they will probably be the confer

ence’s two-seed come playoff time), and the Tigers manhandled them. It sure seems like the Tigers are for real, but we’ll find out for sure on Friday when they travel to Townsend.

*On a side note from last week’s games to watch: Fairfield and Malta

solidified themselves as the top teams in the North. Bigfork and Shelby both had more than respectable outings, but the Eagles and Mustangs loo

k like they might be the top two teams in the

state.
